WINEMAKER NOTES: Tedeschi Family wines are made to showcase the high quality, intensity, depth of rich texture, and delicious, polished flavors (including blackberries, rich red plums, vanilla, spices, oak, and brown sugar) of our wines. All these characteristics lead to a subtle nose on a very smooth and classy finish on the palate.

HISTORY: The Tedeschi family immigrated to California from Italy in 1919 and after settling in Calistoga founded a resort called Pisa Farm with 24 acres of vineyards. They planted a variety of grapes, used to make field blends or sold to private winemakers.

In the second generation, the family established a restaurant named the Flor d'Italia, today the Calistoga Inn. They planted new vineyards with grape varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, and Petite Syrah. These vineyards were later replanted exclusively with Cabernet Sauvignon.

After founding and developing a successful winery in Hawaii, Emil Tedeschi and his wife Shirley returned to the Napa Valley to establish their boutique cellar and manage the property owned by their family for three generations.

THE VINEYARD: The Tedeschi Family Winery vinyeard is located in northern Calistoga.
